David has been involved in the sport of rowing since 1992. David is a 1994 graduate of Liverpool High School, where he began rowing as a sophomore and continued through his senior year. In college he rowed for the SUNY University of Buffalo where he was voted Most Valuable Lightweight for the program in 1999.
Following graduation from the University of Buffalo, he moved to Toledo (Ohio) where he wore several hats, including time as coach of the Toledo Rowing Club’s Masters and Summer Junior programs, as well as the Toledo Rowing Club treasurer. He also served as Head Coach of the Anthony Wayne High School rowing program. While in Ohio, he earned Level III coaching certification through the United States Rowing Association and continues to be an active member of the USRA.
He is currently the Head/Varsity Coach of Fayetteville-Manlius H.S. rowing program where he began coaching during the 2005 season. He coached both the Novice Girl’s and Novice Boy’s programs, then became the Boy’s Varsity Coach in 2006 and the Head Coach in 2007. Dave’s crews have had multiple successes during his tenure!
He currently serves as both the Boathouse/Equipment Director for the CHARGERS and the treasurer of the New York State Scholastic Rowing Association.
